PORT operator Forth Ports has announced a £50 million private investment in infrastructure at the Port of Leith after securing its largest-ever offshore wind contract.
December 2024 – The contract is for the delivery of the 1.1 gigawatt (GW) Inch Cape Offshore Wind Farm, which will be sited nine miles off the Angus coast and will have up to 72 turbines.

October 2023 – Scottish Parliament votes to repeal Internal Market Act.
MSPs have voted to repeal the UK Internal Market Act, which Scottish Ministers say effectively allows the UK Government take control of key devolved policy areas without the consent of MSPs.

January 2025 – Freeports and Special Economic Zones are presented by the UK Government as a great way to create thousands of new jobs in economically deprived areas. But in reality, they hand over control of large swathes of territory to private corporations to operate outside of the laws of the land and to act as a tax evasion opportunity for the benefit of large companies
