A government press release (September 2025) says the freeport is “poised to create more than 11,000 long-term, well-paid jobs” in the Highlands over the next 25 years.
Earlier estimates for the larger region mention up to 25,000 jobs tied to the freeport and its associated investment. Data from a written parliamentary answer shows that as of November 2023, 150 jobs had been created and publicly disclosed for this freeport in the period
